My regular dose of tonsillitis is upon me. I just have to phone the doctor now and I get a prescription left at the reception desk. Which brings me to my first point of complaint...
Normally I have nothing but respect for the local GP receptionist team. They are friendly and courteous and no doubt have to deal with many different patients. But when I am in pain and I get told that I'm unable to collect my prescription until the next day because "we're only working on the flu clinic this afternoon" I get a bit annoyed. I actually walked to my car to go home. And then I stopped myself and thought no, why should I suffer an extra 24 hours pain because someone decided I was too late to pick it up. I didn't know there was a flu clinic on! I didn't know that if I wasn't there by lunchtime that I'd be turned away. So I went in to complain and funnily when I explained I had spoken with the nurse earlier that day and I was in pain it was a different matter. Amazing what happens when you ask to speak to someone with a little more authority.
So what happens today? What is one of the main side effects of antibiotics....thrush
Not only do I have to deal with fighting off an infection now I'm itchy as hell and it's kinda spoiled my plans for this weekend.
I have also got a letter confirming my assessment with the mental health team. Kinda worried about it but relieved too that I might finally get on top of all my baggage.
Ok, ranting over ![]()
